Chiesa has made only three appearances for the Reds since joining them in the summer from Juventus and has clocked 78 minutes on the pitch across all competitions. He has remained sidelined for the majority of the 2024-25 campaign due to a muscular injury and according to journalist , the Italian wasn't present for training on Monday due to illness.

While the Italy international's condition continues to remain a headache for Arne Slot, there was good news for the Liverpool boss as well. First-choice goalkeeper Alisson and forward Diogo Jota rejoined training after spending a considerable amount of time in the treatment room. Alisson has not played a game for the Merseyside club since suffering a hamstring injury against Crystal Palace in the Premier League on October 5. Jota, on the other hand, remained sidelined since the club's clash against Chelsea on October 20.
