According to Corriere dello Sport, Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to sell Mousa Dembele for £25m in this summer’s transfer window.
What’s the story?
Dembele was outstanding for Tottenham during the 2017-18 campaign, and there was a period of the season where the 74-time Belgium international was arguably the form midfielder in European football.
Dembele did not actually register a goal or an assist for Tottenham in his 39 appearances, but some of his performances in the middle of the park were excellent.
The 30-year-old will see his current deal expire at the end of next season, however, and it is understood that the Belgian’s future is far from secure.
According to Corriere dello Sport, rather than risk losing Dembele on a free transfer next summer, Tottenham are prepared to sell for £25m ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.

It is hardly an ideal situation for Spurs, but the club’s chairman Daniel Levy will be keen to see some sort of return on a player who cost £15m from Fulham in August 2012.
How will this one end?
Tottenham have seemingly done all they can to convince Dembele to sign a new contract, and it is unlikely that the London club will break their wage structure in order to keep the midfielder.
Inter Milan have been strongly linked with a move for the Belgium international, but there will be a number of clubs across Europe closely watching developments.
It seems smart for Tottenham to sell Dembele this summer rather than risk losing him on a free transfer, but £25m is not a lot of money for a player who was sensational at times last season.
On the face of it, Dembele’s statistics are not all that impressive having managed just 10 goals and 11 assists in 236 appearances for Tottenham.
He has developed into one of the outstanding central midfielders in European football, however, and Spurs would certainly feel his absence next season.
