Manchester City have made a shortlist of 4 strikers to replace Carlos Tevez, according to the Independent.
The Argentine forward has completed his move to Juventus, meaning the Premier League runners-up have just senior strikers at the club.
Tevez is the second forward to leave the club since Mario Balotelli joined AC Milan in January. But the Eithad side have created a small list of replacements that they will try and sign this summer.
Bayern Munich forward Mario Gomez is top of the list, after the German fell out of favour at the Allianz Arena. Gomez, who scored 26 goals in the 2011/12 season, started just 9 matches for the Bundesliga champions last season, after falling behind Mario Mandzukic in Jupp Heynckes’ pecking order.
Roma forward Pablo Osvaldo is also being watched by City, after scoring 16 league goals for the Serie A side. He joins Sevilla’s Alvaro Negredo on City’s shortlist, after the Spaniard finished the season with 25 league goals to his name.
The 4th player being considered by the 2012 Premier League champions is Oscar Cardozo. The 30-year-old scored 17 goals for Benfica last season, and is valued between at £15million.
New manager Manuel Pellegrini will hope to have his strike force in place ahead of his first ever Premier League match, which is against Newcastle on the 17th August.
Which striker should City sign? Or have they missed someone off the list?
